Course Overview

Organisations of all sizes are increasingly recognising the key role that 'Emotional Intelligence' (EI) has in the effectiveness of the organisation at all levels. In particular, EI provides the foundation for many competencies that are critical for effective leadership. Managers and team leaders are required to fulfil a much broader remit these days - not just to have technical or specialist expertise, but also to have a range of personal attributes and abilities. Effective management and leadership involves working effectively with people - colleagues, reports, more senior managers, stakeholders, customers and suppliers. Being able to achieve results and being able to fulfil responsibilities at operational, team and strategic levels therefore requires a set of special skills that enable the manager or leader to get the best from themselves and al the people they work with

Numerous surveys in the US and in the UK have reported that leaders who are high in emotional intelligence will experience less stress, enjoy better health, perform more effectively at work, gain others’ co-operation, deal effectively with change, and stay employable…

This course will equip delegates with the skills and knowledge for the practical application of Emotional Intelligence in the workplace. It will help delegates to understand the emotional reactions in themselves and others better; to regulate and use their emotions to make good decisions and to act effectively with people and problems in a way that reduces and hostility, develops genuine commitment and collaboration, enhances motivation and produces creative energy.

Psychometric Test H2 Assessments & Tests

In addition to the face-to-face element of the training, we also offer an optional on-line psychometric test, which can be completed as a self-assessment or as a 360 degree appraisal of the 18 EQ competencies. Whist it is entirely optional, the assessment is extremely useful for enhancing self-awareness and for providing a focus for on-going learning and development. The test can be completed at any time, and includes a comprehensive printed report for future reference, including some useful suggestions of potential areas for improvement.

One-to-One Training

As an alternative to attending an open course with delegates from other organisations, we also offer "Emotional Intelligence" and "Emotionally Intelligent Leadership" as individual training on a date of your choice. Feedback from delegates who have had a one-to-one session is extremely positive, as it means that you can have the undivided attention of one of our experienced trainers, and can therefore make sure that the session is entirely focussed on your individual needs/interests.

Our standard one-to-one training includes a flexible combination of face-to-face and telephone sessions. Most popular is a 3-4 hour face-to-face session either at your work premises, or at a convenient local venue, plus two one-hour telephone sessions - one before and one after the training. The telephone sessions help us to ensure that the face-to-face training is tailored exactly to your needs and that you are able to put your learning into practice to make real improvements to your performance at work.

The cost is dependent upon the location and duration of the face-to-face session and we offer discounts for two or more sessions. For example, our standard one-to-one training with the face-to-face session in Central London costs £600 +VAT.
